New Car Finance customers may be interested to hear that the latest large family car from Citroen sees the manufacturer on top form, according to a new review.

Reuters reports this week that the not only has Citroen been "on a bit of a roll" recently, being praised for their green credentials and focus on simple design, but the company has also made serious improvements to the previously "bland" C5.

The news agency states that Audi and BMW are clear reference points for some of the new cars features, and adds that the "striking" new car fits nicely into the same range as its competitors but with a lower price.

With a price tag ranging between £15,600 and £24,000, and a range of engines to choose from including a 2.2-litre HDi and a 2.7-litre V6, it is noted that Car Loans customers will have a number of options to consider.

"The C5 gets a firm thumbs up. It doesn't quite have the prestige of a BMW or the spaciousness of the Mondeo, but you can't grumble at that price tag," the review concludes.

Citroen introduced the C5 in 2001 and the original model was designed during the time when Jacques Calvet was the company chairman - a time when some critics have suggested the manufacturer's quality declined.
