A concept sports car that runs on biofuels could soon be yours for a very reasonable £40,000, a price that becomes more affordable with Car Loans or Car Finance.

British designers have built a concept version of the Climax, which has two seats, is styled on vintage Formula One cars and will run on E85 bioethanol, reports Auto Express.

As well as the choice of fuel helping to cut its environmental impact, the car's creators have deliberately opted for producing a vehicle as light and as aerodynamic as possible.

With an engine capable of 270bhp and a chassis weighing around two thirds that of the already exceptionally light Lotus Elise it is predicted the Climax will be capable of 0-60mph in a staggering 3.4 seconds.

And with a claimed top speed of 160mph and fuel economy around 30mpg this looks set to become a very popular British sports car, once the designers are able to begin production.
