Motorists looking for new Car Finance were given another option of how to spend their loan this week as Ford unveiled its new Kuga 4x4.

The car is due to be available early next year and according to Auto Express, could cost around £16,500 for the base model.

The magazine states that the design of the car is very close to the concept vehicle, the Iosis X, unveiled last September at the Paris motor show.

It is also thought that the new car will have four-wheel drive system which is based on a Volvo, Ford's sister company, with a front-wheel drive system that has the ability to divert torque to its rear wheels when conditions become slippery.

Although full details are yet to be confirmed it is thought drivers, including those with car finance, will also be able to opt for 2.0-litre TDCi turbo diesel and 2.5-litre turbo charged five-cylinder petrol versions of the Kuga.

The Kuga's original incarnation, the Iosis X, was designed by Martin Smith, executive design director for Ford and his design team at Ford Europe.

It is claimed that the Iosis X, Kuga and other models such as the Mondeo are designed according to the principles of 'Kinetic Design'.
