Mazda has revealed details of its latest super-mini, which could be of interest of those looking for new Car Finance.

According to Reuters, the new Mazda2 will be in direct competition with the likes of the Vauxhall Corsa and the Ford Fiesta and is now lighter and safer than its predecessor.

The safety features include a five-star NCap rating and the reduced weight means that the new car is more fuel-efficient and kinder to the environment.

Reuters also reports that the new Mazda2, despite being smaller than the old model, is able to carry more and will be available to car finance customers in a range of engine sizes.

The 1.3-litre is the entry level model which offers up to 86 bhp and there will also be a 1.5-litre version with 103 bhp. It is expected that the 1.4-litre turbo diesel version will be on the forecourts in the early part of 2008.

Earlier this week, the news agency also reported that the car manufacturer would be entering into a deal with Ford to establish a $500 million (£246 million) plant in Rayong, Thailand.
