Mazda is set to launch its 2008 Mazda 5 and, according to Reuters, the new car is set to come with a host of options and improvements.

According to the news agency, the Japanese manufacturer has revised the design of the small family car's exterior and interior as well as making it available in new six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmissions.

The interior is now expected to come with a new audio system and an integrated sat nav that incorporates a rear-view parking camera.

It is also noted that the Mazda 5 has been given improved efficiency and CO2 emissions levels and will available in seven colours with a choice of 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels.

Mazda has been producing the model, which is known internationally as the Premacy, since 1999 and in 2006 the car was named Best New Multipurpose Family Vehicle at the Canadian Car of the Year awards.
