Nissan has launched its luxury range of cars at this year's Geneva Motor Show and according to Auto Express the cars could be heading to the European market soon.

It is reported that the Infiniti will be available in three different models, a sporting SUV named the FX50, a cross-over SUV called the EX37 and the G37 - which comes in salon and coupe versions.

Infiniti's new cars, which are expected to be available to motorists in April 2009, are said to be the luxury range that "everyone is talking about in Geneva" and the website also notes that the FX50 could take on a number of prestige rivals.

The new car will go head-to-head with the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover Sport and with a lightweight body and 5.0-litre V8 engine offering 385bhp the car could prove a popular choice.

"Key to the FX50's pace and efficiency is its relatively light weight. Aluminium bodywork and a plastic tailgate help it to be the lightest model in its class," the site adds.

The Geneva Motor Show runs between March 6th and 16th and will be attended by a number of the leading auto manufacturers.
