Average. A competent - if bland - car that's not as fun as a Ford Focus nor as well made as a VW Golf.
Average. You won't find a better way of making relaxed, long-distance progress.
Average. Avensis Verso is a roomy estate that has been heavily reworked to include MPV-like qualities. Lots of space, some nice practical touches and good engines.
Recommended. Stylish, great to drive and incredibly cheap to run - Toyota proves that cheap doesn't have to mean nasty.
Not recommended. Toyota's luxury saloon looks good on paper but it's had little impact in the UK and is a depreciation disaster if you plan to buy new.
Recommended. A handsome mid-sized coupé offering predictably superb Toyota build quality and some sparkling driving dynamics. Engines lack low-down urge and there's only nominal space in the back.
Recommended. Toyota's attempt to blend Japanese quality with European style - generally successfully.
Recommended. Talented mid-sized MPV that combines plenty of space with an impressive driving experience.
Average. An MPV version of the current Toyota Corolla, sharing its hatchback sister's solid build quality and competent driving dynamics. It only offers five seats, though, and some rivals are better value.
Not Recommended. Tough and useful, but this lifestyle pick up can't match rivals for comfort or performance.
Average. Toyota has tweaked the commercial Hilux to create a fairly cool and trendy 'lifestyle' vehicle. Room for five inside and flat load bay is great for bikes, surf boards or any gear.
Average. Despite sleek modern looks the Landcruiser remains throughly old-fashioned under the skin. Incredibly competent off-road but can't match rivals on it.
Average. Incredibly tough off-roader that offers good equipment, excellent space and bank vault build quality - but feels big, slow and crude compared to more recent rivals.
Recommended. A lightweight two-seater that is serious fun to drive, looks fine and sounds great. But as for storage - a toothbrush, perhaps?
Recommended. Strangely styled but cavernous full-sized MPV that offers great space, excellent utility, and is surprisingly nice to drive, too.
Average. Full marks to Toyota for putting this hybrid into production, but sadly the reality can't live up to the hype.
Average. Hats off to Toyota for being one of the first manufacturers to offer a hybrid car that runs off both a standard petrol engine and electric motor.
Recommended. The new RAV is bigger, faster and roomier than the car it replaces - so where does it fit into the hard-fought softroader segment?
Recommended. A small but chunky sports-utility vehicle intended more for on-road than off. Trendy looks and high equipment levels make it best in class.
Recommended. It's still as cute as the original, but the new Yaris has grown considerably bigger. Does that mean it's better?
Highly Recommended. A great little car that offers so much for so little. It was Car of the Year in 1999 and it's still a good buy.
Not Recommended. Vertically stretched version of the little Yaris can carry more cargo. Solidly built but looks awful.
