Seat Toledo

Average. This saloon version of the Altea people carrier has loads of space - but the strange looks will put most off.

Seat Alhambra

Average. Old and outdated full-sized people-carrier - it's continuing appeal is due in large part to attractive pricing.

Seat Arosa (97 - 05)

Average. A face-lift has given the Spanish supermini a more attractive look. It's a neat and tidy city car with three very different engine options to suit most budgets.

Seat Cordoba

Average. Saloon version of the Ibiza supermini offering a similar ownership proposition thanks to keen engines, lots of equipment and competitive pricing. Plus the advantages of a huge boot. Problem is, of course, that Britain doesn't like supermini-based saloons.

Seat Ibiza

Average. This Spanish supermini is well priced and well equipped but feels increasingly old next to more modern rivals.

Seat Leon

Recommended. The VW Golf's Spanish sister is a stylish, fine-driving family hatchback. Performance versions like the Cupra crown the range.

Seat Altea

Recommended. Less spacious than rivals, but this handsome mid-sized MPV is surprisingly good to drive.

Seat Toledo (99-04)

Recommended. An excellent value family saloon from the Spanish arm of the VW Group. Well-built, roomy and handsome to look at, the Toledo is a good buy.

Seat Leon (00 - 05)

Recommended. The Leon is based on the VW Golf but is cheaper and much more fun to drive. Equipment levels are high and there is an excellent range to tempt you.
