Alfa Romeo 156
Ratings
4 stars
Summary
Recommended. Full of character and passion. Alfa's executive model may fall short on quality and reliability, but who cares when the drive is this good?
Review
Fun is an understatement: this is a hugely enjoyable car. The cabin is a driver's delight, with instruments angled towards the driver and a real feeling of sporting heritage flowing through it. It's a tight fit in the back - even in the Sportwagon estate - but if you want an involving driving experience, look no further. The turning circle is rather wide, and secondhand values are not good, but the styling still looks as sharp as it did at the 156's launch in 1997. The high-performance GTA version is superb but has a harsh ride.
