Seat Arosa (97 - 05)

Ratings

3 stars

Summary

Average. A face-lift has given the Spanish supermini a more attractive look. It's a neat and tidy city car with three very different engine options to suit most budgets.

Review

The Arosa is the same car as VW's pint-sized and more costly Lupo. Since a styling makeover it has become much prettier and desirable. It's best used as a city runabout, with plenty of front legroom but limited back seat and luggage space. The cheapest 1.0 version is a bargain but painfully slow, try the TDi 1.4 for a good mix of performance and economy. The 16-valve sport is a pocket rocket and should put a smile on your face - if you don't mind the firmer suspension. A tiny and entertaining package - but barely a four-seater.
